I do know my dad was in the Ardennes. There is buried blood from WW II. Dad's unit was expecting wounded, and the wounded never came. CO told Dad to bury the excess blood. Dad said there were a lot of bottles. Part of Pattons 3rd Army, 642nd Medical Clearing House. Dad was a med tech level 5. He had his training at Fletcher General hospital in Ohio.

How does it works? Do you go for several days? Or do you stay anywhere around some good spots? Because I can imagine it’s a lot of traveling when you only go for one day of detecting and then go home again. It's amazing to think that most of your finds would initially have been just lying on top of the ground and then nature began to take them. I love watching you all, I do a little amateur detecting and never have found anything old.

Damned if I'd be digging around those sites. Never can tell if there's any UXO laying around. Even today UXO is still being found throughout Germany, France and Italy.
